When red-and-blue-clad students turned up at JHP@Penn’s Purim Brunch this past Sunday carrying tubas, trombones, and flutes, the interns were more than a little confused… Turns out the Penn band can play Purim songs!

On my walk over to 18th and Market on February 23rd, at least four different people wished me a happy birthday. Not surprisingly, they were confused by my sequined tiara. The typical birthday headpiece seemed out-of-place to most Philadelphians but once I arrived at Marathon, my Princess Ester costume became much more obvious.
65 Shabbat Dinners in One Night at Penn!
The results are in: this semester we provided 1,325 Penn students with food for over 65 Shabbat meals on campus with JHP@Penn’s famous bi-annual Shabbat for 2,000.
Hamentashen Making at NYU
The ladies of AEPhi at NYU baked hamentashen last weekend to share with their friends on Purim. Intern Katie Goldman, NYC Class of 2014 and a student in the Steinhardt Program for Education Theatre, spear-headed the event, inviting her friends to fulfill the mitzvah of Shalach Manot (sending packages of food).
