Penn’s Jewish Women’s Resource Center Starts the Year Off with New Events!

October 3, 2017 by Sophia Winston

The Jewish Women’s Resource Center held its second interest meeting of the semester on September 27th, 2017. Chava, the Jewish Women’s Educator at the center, shared some teachings about Yom Kippur that sparked a discussion among all the students present. The group also planned the first JWRC campus-wide kick off event for Sukkos: Sushi and S’mores in the Sukkah!

The JWRC also collaborated with one of Penn’s Jewish Sororities, SDT, for a Challah Bake. Three SDT sister planned and organized the event for 15 of their sorority sisters. They were so excited to learn how to “take Challah,” the part that is removed with a blessing to make the dough kosher, and learn how to do 3, 4, and even 7 strand braids.
