Hands & Fingers

In the Jewish mystical tradition, the imagery of hands is used as an expression of the soul’s wisdom and kindness. Our hands can communicate our ideas through writing and drawing and our generosity through our deeds. But just as the hand needs the smaller and weaker fingers to accomplish it’s task, so too do we need to temper our wisdom and kindness so they are expressed in a way they can be properly received.

If water were to gush forth from the heavens, it would only bring ruin and destruction.  Rather, it is the tiny droplets of rain that quench the earth and bring blessing to humankind. 

It is our ability to channel our energies that make them useful and beneficial to others.
