YPN Hosts Holocaust Surviver
David Tuck, Holocaust Survivor, speakes to YPN participants

Last Wednesday, the young professional network had holocaust survivor David Tuck come speak at their monthly Leadership Circle meeting.  David shared his story and experience during the Holocaust.  Everyone was in tears by the end of his story and learned a valuable lesson: never give up.  "Last night was such an amazing event.   It was very powerful to hear David speak and it was a once in a lifetime experience." Melanie Highbloom , YPN Leadership Circle member

YPN Spotlight: Rachel Gendelman

YPN Leadership Circle

Rachel Gendelman has that magnetic personality that lights up a room. She uses this quality to succeed in her position as an account executive at Concentra, a position that she has held for almost two years.

Rachel also uses her knowledge of how to successfully plan and execute events as a member of the social events and recruiting committee for the Young Professionals Network of JHP. Rachel has been a member of JHP since March of 2014. Rachel explained,
"I love being involved in this organization because it gets people together, whether it be to give back to the community by providing food for the JRA, or meeting to network with other Jewish Young professionals in the area."

Rachel currently lives in Center City, Philadelphia with her adopted cat, Norrie.  In her free time she enjoys volunteering at PAWS animal shelter, trying new restaurants with her girlfriends, and hanging out with her family in Huntingdon Valley.

TORAH THOUGHT OF THE DAY

The Torah lists each of the 42 places the Jewish people journeyed from and to over four decades, from leaving Egypt until reaching the borders of the Promised Land. Leaving Egypt is symbolic of the birth of every person. Afterwards, our lives are not meant to be one long continuous trek--but discrete journeys. Each journey is a completely new, meaningful and significant leap forward from one place to the next, higher place-until we reach our own Holy Land.

(The Baal Shem Tov)
