JHP@Penn Goes to Israel!
On Sunday May 29th, University of Pennsylvania's Chabad Rabbi, Levi Haskelevich and JHP@Penn campus coordinator, Jessie Segal returned from an amazing and extensive 10 day Birthright trip to Israel! Rabbi Levi, Jessie and the 40 students from the University of Pennsylvania as well as other local PA colleges arrived at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on May 19th. They were immediately greeted by Israeli Madricha Esti, and their Israeli tour guide Golan, holding Israeli flags and shouting "Am Israel Chai!" The students jet lagged faces soon brightened up with the energetic welcome as well as the delicious rugalech and bamba! Their first weekend was spent up North in Tiberius at a hotel with the most spectacular view of the Kineret. As the week unfolded they traveled throughout our beautiful country of Israel. From Tzfat, Masada, the Bedouin tents, Tel Aviv, and of course Jerusalem, it was an amazing trip filled with learning, and everlasting experiences.
"Birthright gave me the opportunity to finally visit the homeland of our ancestors, and it wouldn't have been the same without some of my fellow jhp members." Jesse Roth '17
