When did you join JHP? How involved were you?
I went to Drexel, which is a 5 year school, and I joined the 3rd year I was there and became an intern.
What is one of your favorite JHP memories and why?
The mentoring retreats were really special to me. I grew up in Russia and was totally secular, so the mentoring was always the highlight of my JHP experience. I always knew I would work on Wall Street, but coming from a really secular place, it's just kinda like it's Wall Street. Then, you meet people like George Rohr who adds a Jewish moral lens, which is a different lens that JHP took based on a new framework that I never really thought about. You have to separate your personal life and values from your work life. It just opened my mind to a different realm.
What was JHP’s impact on your life?
I became observant during my time in JHP. JHP’s ability to balance learning, mentoring and personal growth had a significant impact on my life. It was also amazing to see the authentic passion that Menachem brings that makes JHP so special.
What have you learned from JHP that you will take with you to your job or to the rest of your life?
The balance between business and Jewish life. What it means to be a leader on Wall Street, while still maintaining a strong connection to Judaism.
