Max is the Director of Development of Maayan Collective. He is passionate about relationship building and leveraging our connections to make a positive impact. Max also believes in the power of philanthropy to transform those who give. He looks forward to connecting more people and partners with opportunities to support Maayan Collective's partner programs, including: Jewish Heritage Programs (JHP), Lubavtich House at Penn, The Institute of Jewish Spirituality and Society (IJSS), CogWell, the Jewish Business Network (JBN), and the Old City Jewish Arts Center (JAC).
Max earned his BA in International Relations from Colgate University, where he was a Jewish student leader on campus. He went on to complete an MA in Education and rabbinic studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Max comes to Maayan Collective with experience in Jewish non-profit and synagogue leadership, including: educational leadership, program development, relational engagement, and fundraising.
Max lives outside Philadelphia with his wife, Joy, and their two children. Max loves books and music, and has not come across a musical genre that he does not like. In his spare time he loves to travel, and when not in Philadelphia you are likely to find him in Taiwan, Israel, and sometimes farther afield.
