Mentors are instrumental in helping students find internships and employment, and provide opportunities to become leaders in the Jewish community.
Mentorship is a core element of JHP efforts and success. Many participants in the Mentoring Program are JHP alumni who volunteer their time to guide, instruct and mentor future generations. Mentors engage JHP students through internships, career shadowing opportunities, and informational retreats. Through mentoring sessions, they provide life and career advice, with particular insight in how to harmonize a successful career while celebrating one's Jewish identity.
The JHP mentoring retreat was an amazing opportunity to meet and network with people working in all different fields. We got to see the beautiful facilities at NYU Langone Health and we also went to Paul, Weiss to meet past JHP members who went on to work in finance, investment banking, law, etc. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Friday.”
This year’s mentoring retreat in Philadelphia was a great success as students of all years (freshman to seniors) had the opportunity to network with professionals ranging from finance, to journalism, to law. Students were able to learn about fields of interest as well as network for their future career goals. We look forward to hosting more networking and mentoring in the future!”
Held once each semester in NYC and once a year in Philadelphia, JHP alumni, community and business leaders volunteer their time to guide, instruct and mentor future generations. Mentors engage JHP students through internships, career shadowing opportunities, and informational retreats. Through mentoring sessions, they provide life and career advice, with particular insight in how to harmonize a successful career while celebrating one's Jewish identity.
