“This place REALLY knows how to make you feel welcome. Walk past on a cold First Friday night and you’ll be greeted by 3 people holding trays of warm chicken noodle soup (kosher too) beckoning you to come in and enjoy a plate of food . . . It’s a gallery worth checking out.”

Filling a Jewish Arts vacuum in Philadelphia, JHP started the OCJAC began in 2006 as a linchpin for Jews to build community with other Jews, identify with Judaism, appreciate the Arts, and attend educational and social events. The OCJAC is now a landmark gallery in the Philadelphia art scene, and it is the only gallery dedicated to Jewish artistic expression and cultural exchange in Philadelphia. As a powerful community resource, the OCJAC puts a face on what Judaism is and communicates who we are as powerfully as Philadelphia’s other acclaimed Jewish institutions. In addition to exhibiting high-caliber Art, the OCJAC also holds Arts and Jewish programming throughout the year.
